My sister was actually taking about this recently. I feel almost a little left out that I never learned about it :-/

We talked about it at Freethinkers. It wasn’t a formal lesson or anything. It’s pretty annoying actually. You try to find a hero that doesn’t conform to the steps, but nine times out of ten, they fit in somewhere. I actually thought I found one recently, but I watched the movie again, and I found his refusal to the call. I may have cried out in anguish. A little.

It’s even worse if you try to write a hero that doesn’t conform. They’re generally assholes, or worse, they operate on dumb luck (at least that’s the trend with mine).
